CONVECTIVE FORECAST
VALID Fri 23 Dec 06:00 - Sat 24 Dec 06:00 2005 (UTC)
ISSUED: 23 Dec 09:45 (UTC)
FORECASTER: TUSCHY
Thunderstorms are forecast across southwestern Norway
SYNOPSIS
Stable and cool airmass remains over most parts of Europe, which will limit
convection development…Ridging present over most parts of central Europe and
this, combined
with a major upper level trough over eastern Europe, will help for stable
conditions.
Main concern for isolated TSTM development will be along the coastal areas
of SW Norway...Strong depression will move onshore during the afternoon
hours…Some forcing and low-end instability values will be present… LL shear
slightly enhanced and I do not want to exclude a waterspout report but
otherwise conditions do not look favorable for a more organized TSTM threat.
